Grass fire in northeast Minot quickly extinguished after downed power line sparks blaze
Minot, ND — A grass fire in northeast Minot was quickly brought under control Monday afternoon after a downed power line sparked the blaze, according to officials.
Minot Central Dispatch received reports of the fire at approximately 2:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of 3rd Street Northeast.
Engine 1 responded to the scene and extinguished the fire shortly after arrival.
Officials said no injuries were reported and no damage occurred to a nearby residence.
The fire was determined to have been caused by a downed power line.
Xcel Energy crews responded and shut off power to the affected line as a precaution.
Authorities said the incident was quickly contained due to the rapid response from firefighters.
