On May 12, 2026, the department received information from a district manager for the Minot branch of Wilbur-Ellisalleging that an employee had stolen more than $1.5 million from the company.

Investigators determined that approximately 157 fraudulent invoices had been submitted dating back to 2014 for services and deliveries that never occurred.

Authorities stated the scheme involved invoices submitted under PM Trucking, with payments allegedly directed to accounts connected to the suspect.

McCarty was arrested at approximately 12:30 p.m. at his southwest Minot residence without incident and transported to the Ward County Jail.
